Osata esmaabi, see on sama, mis süüdata väike täht.

Ükskõik, kui kõrgel tasemel on kiirabi, oled kannatanu tegeliku saatuse otsustaja Sina!

See, mida teed Sina esimestel minutitel pärast õnnetust, otsustab kannatanu saatuse. Kiirabi ei saa seda hiljem muuta.

Dear reader and colleague!

Even if You don’t have medical education, we will still call You a colleague.

While saving someone’s life at home, work, street or beach a person is the primary rescuer. In many critical situations the first five minutes decide the faith of the victim. Usually there is no ambulance or doctor to aid You at this time. You are alone with your knowledge, fears and insecurities. What you can do decides the rest of the victims fate. A human’s braincells can endure lack of oxygen for only five minutes. You have a chance to lengthen this time until the ambulaces gets there only if you know how to give First Aid and the worst is when you don’t do anything.

First Aid symbolizes two hands that hand a heart to each other. Ambulance alone can’t save and restart hearts. We are successsful only if this non-beating heart is handed to us by the hand of someone who can give First Aid.

Surely just reading a book isn’t enough to be able to give First Aid successfully, one has to learn hands on how to save lives. That is why we invite You to our training, where you can practice, practice and practice some more. And if after giving the exam you recive a First Aid certificate with our logotype, then you have been gladly accepted to the LIFE-club. („ELU-kate klubisse”). These are people who may proudly say, “We can resuscitate and give First Aid – we can save someone.“ Many of our students have admitted that after our training they have entered a new worls. A world where rule values that have been forgotten in the last years – respect for life, empathy and willingness to help.

But when our book can help to save even one human life, You have made us the luckies people in Estonia.

First-Aid Training

Non-Profit Association Rahvakoolitus-ELU has worked out a new type of first aid training. Since our lecturers work full time at emergency medical service, we constantly the nature of main problems at a scene of an accident.

Our first-aid training consists of three evenly important components:

1. Theoretical preparation
The theoretical preparation is based on "algorhythm training", i.e. certain behaviour instructions in case of disorders of life-important functions. An algorhythm, which is very successfully used in the training of rescue workers and structures of emergency medical service, has been adjusted for ordinary people by now. This system leaves a person no options that may be confusing in a case of emergency but it prioritises aid provision in a certain sequence.

2. Acquisition of first aid techniques
In the course of the second part of the training programme all practical skills for keeping a casualty alive are taught. For example: CPR, stopping bleeding, application of splints, turning with the principle of "one piece" etc.

3. Complex Training
Those who attend the course must actually give first aid to "casualties" in different trauma situations. First aid provision is based on the "algorhythm behaviour" acquired in theory and first aid techniques learned in practice. Students must be able to behave in a proper way in different situations.

The training and the exam take place in very realistic conditions - both artificial wounds and artificial blood are used.

Each training session ends with an exam. We give out a certificate to those who successfully pass the exam.
